David Leslie Ltd isn’t just a name; it’s a tribute to family and the values that guide how we do business.
Rob Green, founder of David Leslie Ltd, named the company after two brothers who helped shape his life: his late uncle David, an inspiring role model known for his guidance and kindness, and Rob’s father, Leslie. The name now lives on as the middle names of Rob’s youngest son, carrying the family legacy forward.
For us, this is more than a business. It’s about trust, loyalty, and building relationships that last. Those values define how we work with clients and candidates every day in the Building, Fit-Out, and M&E Building Services sectors. About Rob Green
Founder of David Leslie Ltd
I was born in Bethnal Green, East London in 1980, and spent much of my childhood and early adult life in Cambridgeshire before settling on the South Coast in 2015.
My recruitment career began in 2004 as a trainee consultant with a construction recruitment agency based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. I was fortunate to work alongside some fantastic people who became great mentors. However, when the global recession hit in 2008, the construction sector was hit hard, and like many others at the time, I was made redundant as the business went through a major downturn.
Despite this setback, my passion for both the construction industry and recruitment never wavered. In early 2009, I made the leap and launched my own independent consultancy, and I’ve never looked back.
In the early days, we focused exclusively on Building and Fit-Out contractors, but as the business evolved, we expanded our services to include the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Building Services sector. Today, we continue to support a wide range of contractors across the UK, delivering high-quality, permanent placements at all levels.
I’ve always believed in building genuine, long-term relationships, not just filling roles. Every client and candidate deserves honesty, care, and a tailored approach. That ethos has shaped the way we work and is a big part of why many of our clients choose David Leslie Ltd as their preferred recruitment partner.
Outside of work, life is very much centred around family. My wife and I have four wonderful children — three boys aged 4, 9, and 13, and a daughter who’s 19. I’m a lifelong football fan, and I also enjoy cooking and spending time with friends and family whenever I can.
